In order for the energy transformation to be successful, it needs innovation to carry out this process effectively on the one hand, and on the other hand, for the economy to receive added value. In times of energy crisis, the transformation process should be accelerated so that Poland is among the leaders of change. Given our technological backwardness in this area, dependence on coal, as well as the EU’s zero-emission goal, innovations in the energy sector are a must have for Poland nowadays.

The Energy Innovation Day is intended not only to identify the best solutions, but also to indicate ways to implement these initiatives in enterprises in our country. Poland, which has good conditions for the development of innovation by building an ecosystem for startups, should use this potential to develop the key industry, which is the power industry.

There is no time! The global and Polish energy innovation ecosystem lived in the erroneous belief that new solutions to optimize energy consumption and manage renewable sources would be needed only in a few years. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the Kremlin’s hybrid war in Europe have changed the energy landscape of our continent, forcing us to look for completely new solutions and supply directions.

Energy has become a scarce commodity overnight and the risk of blackouts has become quite real. The race for tomorrow’s innovations and solutions has gained new momentum. Poland can and should take an active part in it. Not only as a supplier of native technologies, but also as an ambassador of inventors from the entire region of Central and Eastern Europe. This is why the Startup Hub Poland Foundation joins the Energy Innovation Day chapter. We want leading Polish corporations to be able to keep up to date with groundbreaking ways of energy transformation. Ways created by startups, which, however, without cooperation with the industry will never play a role that will permanently switch the color of our economy to green.
